Well I finished Thread Catcher #9! Kinda sounds like a song. You might think I have an obsession with making these… Well, I do!
I actually finished this one in about 4 hours and it is one of my favorites thus far. In August, I had to make an emergency trip to Douglas to meet my mother and brother. I brought my sewing machine along to keep me company while I waited for them to arrive from WI/IL. I needed to drive my Mom to a funeral in Grand Rapids for my Aunt Doris who had passed away. I thought I might keep this one for myself. It has the most beautiful periwinkle polka dot lining and bright green evergreen forest fabric on the outside. This fabric was purchased at our day trip to the Chicago International Quilt Show earlier this year.
Each summer I take a week in July to vacation with my sister in West Michigan. We sew and go to the beach. This year we went with Mom and she kept us quite busy with other projects however we still finished some of our sewing/quilting projects.

Thread Catchers for CQK
Another Thread Catcher is done and I do believe that this is my most favorite to date! I just love the outer fabric that was gifted to me by Thelma from CQK so she is the lucky recipient of this beauty. The coral lining fabric was one of the prize FQ’s from the 2014 Row by Row. I couldn’t believe it when I found coordinating jumbo Rick Rack (color: Paradise Pink/Rose/Rosado Coral) at JoAnn’s.
This will not be the last Thread Catcher I make because I still don’t have one! I am also teaching the class at Creative Quilt Kits on July 25th from 10am-3pm.
Thread Catcher for Annie
Thread Catcher for Michelle
These thread catchers were made for my niece and sister. I used batting in the body of the bag this time. Since my niece has a nut allergy and my sister sews with my niece on a frequent basis, I filled these with lentils instead of crushed walnut shells.
