I totally love this gorgeous block! I can certainly see myself using this block design in an upcoming quilt.
I set out this morning drawing different blocks to use in making potholders for the kitchen. I had seen this block as a much larger block on a mini quilt on one of my favorite blogs and websites, Fresh Lemons Quilts. Once the block was all sewed together, I decided it is much too pretty to use as a potholder in the kitchen. So, I’m thinking I will frame it as wall art.
I selected the brown fabric at a recent fabric swap at the Heritage Quilter’s Meeting on June 20th. The three check/dot fabrics were purchased at Lake Street Mercantile during the Modern Traditions Shop Hop on the same day. These three fabrics are from the Farmer’s Market collection by Brannock and Patek for Moda (colors 2084-11. 2084-12 and 2084-13). The white on cream is a Muslin Mate from my stash.
